Already one of my favourite Singapore hotels – thanks to an incredible location and lovely staff – Swissotel The Stamford has knocked it out of the park with their brand-new Vitality Rooms.
More than just beautiful rooms (which they are) with insane views of the Singapore Skyline (which they have), Swissotel The Stamford’s Vitality Rooms allow travellers to maintain their mental and physical wellbeing on the road.
Vital(ity) statistics
Part of a multimillion-dollar overhaul of the hotel’s 1252 guest rooms and suites, each of the hotel’s six cutting-edge Vitality Rooms is a thing of spacious beauty.
Designed to enhance the mental and physical wellbeing of guests, the serene and stylish new Vitality Rooms are an extension of the hotel’s popular Vitality programme.
A super comfy king-sized bed with a pillow menu will lull you into a restful sleep, as will the room’s high-performance air purification system and innovative circadian lighting technology that adapts to each guest’s body rhythm to help travellers beat jet-lag and a lack of exposure to sunlight. There’s also a genius bio-adaptive wake-up light that simulates sunrise by gradually increasing light in the minutes before your morning alarm goes off.
The bathroom too features a multi sensorial experience shower that can relax or invigorate through gently-coloured lighting and water pressures that alternately calm or reinvigorate. There are also smart mirrors with a selection of lighting, a sexy Dyson hairdryer and smart mirrors with day and night lighting.
But perhaps the most extraordinary feature of Swissotel The Stamford’s Vitality Rooms is a yoga station and wellbeing wall with a cable and water resistance pulleys, a gimp stretching rack and leather weights.
In keeping with the high-tech design of the room, there’s even an interactive digital personal trainer built in to the wall offering a selection of guided workout routines of varying lengths of time and difficulty. If you want to get the blood pumping, choose a fast routine.
And if you want to take it back a notch, select a stretch routine. Perfect for a gym shy gal like me who values exercise as much as she does her privacy whilst she does it.
There’s also a larger fitness Centre at Swissotel The Stamford with a strength training area, a private fitness assessment room and a yoga studio.
But if your idea of wellbeing is just gazing out over the stunning Singapore skyline from floor to ceiling windows or lazing with a room service burger on a comfy couch to watch a movie on a giant flat screen TV, well, the Vitality Room has you covered there too.
Food for thought
Leaving no wellness stone unturned, Swissotel The Stamford’s Vitality Rooms’s mini-bar snacks have even been curated with wellness in mind, with snacks of fruits, kale and beetroot chips, as well as organic juices and mineral water. Oh, and there’s also a perfectly good Nespresso machine for those who count a good coffee as vital to their wellbeing.
To earn some delicious calories to work off in your Vitality Room, the hotel offers comprehensive room service and a staggering choice of bars and restaurants with super healthy Vitality options (unlike that sneaky burger that “accidentally” snuck its way into my room).
Enjoy a relaxing cuppa at TWG Tea Salon & Boutique, poolside snacks at Alligator Pear, Chinese delights at Szechuan Court & Kitchen, Japanese fine dining at Mikuni, Italian classics at Prego, local favourites at Kopi Tiam and superlative modern British fine-dining and phenomenal views of the Singapore skyline at Michelin-starred JAAN.
New venues include a ground-floor plastic free tri-concept dining offering a Grab & Go option as well as a bistro and craft beer bar, Bar Rouge nightclub and grill with a view at SKAI Restaurant and Bar on the 70th floor.

Location, location
When they say Swissotel The Stamford is in the heart of the city, they mean it. Seriously, you can practically feel it pumping.
Sitting atop City Hall MRT Station, the hotel is part of the Raffles City complex that also comprises Fairmont Singapore and Raffles City Shopping Centre and easy walking distance of hawker markets and some of the city’s best attractions.
