Raffles Reviews…

Raffles reviews China Republic

While BOYEATSWORLD has always been about food, travel and culture as seen through the eyes of my son Raffles and his two-year old sister Sugarpuff, the stories have always been told by me (their mum).  But my six-year old foodie, who is also a keen storyteller, has decided it’s time to commandeer “his” blog and get a little more involved in the creation of its content.

Given that he can’t type and its a little hard to blog in crayon I asked him what exactly he had in mind and he came up with Raffles Reviews, which I think is mostly an excuse for him to eat more. Here Raffles will share all the deets about where, what and how he’s been eating, in his own words, transcribed by his mama/secretary/slave (for the sake of legibility).

He is only six so please don’t expect The Good Food Guide here, just simple, honest and blessedly brief restaurant reviews and foodie tips from a boy who loves to eat. Please indulge this mum and her hungry boy as I am keen to encourage his desire to share his stories and improve his storytelling skills.

Raffles reviews: Adamo’s Pasta, Rosebery

I thought I’d eaten some pretty tasty pasta dishes before but I didn’t realise just how good pasta could be! You see, I was lucky enough to have a lunch date with Mama at Adamo’s Pasta in Rosebery and they do things with pasta that are totally next level. Adamo’s Pasta is a simple but comfortable cafe as […] Read more…

Raffles and his ramen at Salaryman Surry Hills

Raffles reviews: Salaryman, Surry Hills

I never met a ramen I didn’t love but Salaryman Surry Hills makes ramen that is so awesome I would marry it. But that’s probably because it isn’t your average ramen place.  I’m used to little hidden ramen shops but this restaurant is really big and dark and kind of concretey. A bit like a warehouse but with an epic painting […] Read more…
